We advocate for improved access to quality, inclusive, and affordable healthcare services for vulnerable populations, particularly persons with albinism at high risk of preventable illnesses such as skin cancer.
We lead and implement preventive initiatives that include early skin cancer screening, awareness campaigns, sun safety education, and access to protective resources. We achieve this through collaborating with medical specialists, hospitals targeting high risk communities offering free services and treatments such as surgery, cryotherapy, counselling and early referrals.
The Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust distributes free sunscreen lotions, lip balms, sunhats, and other sun-protective materials to persons with albinism across the Southern Region of Zimbabwe aiming to reduce harmful UV exposure among.
We mobilise resources to support diagnosis, treatment costs, and follow-up care for persons with albinism fighting skin cancer and other related health conditions.
During our outreaches, we also address stigma, discrimination, and harmful myths surrounding albinism through community engagement, advocacy, and rights-based education.
Support and collaborate with health institutions and professionals to improve knowledge, skills, and responsiveness in providing albinism-sensitive healthcare services.
Climate change is a reality and persons with albinism are at a higher risk of developing skin cancers due to exposure to extreme heatwaves without protection. Therefore at TNHZT we respond to climate change-related health risks by promoting adaptive, community-led solutions that protect persons with albinism vulnerable to extreme heat and UV exposure.
Through the Albinism Konnect Skin Cancer Fund Fundraiser we leverage crowd funding, partnerships, and community solidarity to sustainably finance health interventions and social support programmes that from 2020 we have raised over USD $100 000.00 worth of support and impacted may livelihoods of our beneficiaries.
As we implement our programs we are intentional in advocating for policies and practices that uphold the dignity, safety, and human rights of persons with albinism and other marginalised groups. Our philosophy is “Virtue can only flourish among equals”
