Advocacy
Advocacy and Creative Arts Program at The Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust
At The Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust (TNHZT), we believe advocacy and creative expression are powerful tools for social transformation. Our Advocacy and Creative Arts Program is dedicated to amplifying the voices of marginalized groups, particularly people with albinism, women, and youth, through participatory approaches and artistic expression. We address systemic discrimination and work to create a more inclusive society where human rights are respected and celebrated.
The Challenge
In Zimbabwe, marginalized communities face significant barriers to equality and inclusion, including:
Discrimination and Stigma: People with albinism confront harmful myths and superstitions that lead to social exclusion and violence.
Gender Inequality: Women and girls face systemic barriers to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
Youth Marginalization: Young people often lack platforms to voice their concerns and participate in decision-making.
Limited Awareness: Many communities lack understanding about the rights and needs of marginalized groups.
These challenges perpetuate cycles of poverty, exclusion, and human rights violations.
What We Do
Our program combines grassroots advocacy with creative arts to drive social change:
Human Rights Advocacy:
We engage communities in dialogues about albinism, gender equality, and youth empowerment
Train local advocates to lead rights awareness campaigns
Partner with policymakers to influence inclusive legislation
Conduct media campaigns to challenge stereotypes
Creative Arts for Social Change:
Albinism Konnect Music Band: Artists with albinism create music addressing discrimination and empowerment
Theater for Development: Interactive performances tackle issues like child marriage and disability rights
Visual Arts Exhibitions: Showcase talents and stories of marginalized individuals
Poetry and Storytelling: Provide platforms for personal narratives of resilience

Our Approach
Participatory Advocacy:
We believe those affected by issues should lead solutions. Our programs are co-created with community members.
Art as Activism:
We harness the universal language of arts to:
Humanize complex issues
Engage diverse audiences
Inspire empathy and action
Intersectional Lens:
We address overlapping forms of discrimination based on disability, gender, and age.
Sustainable Change:
We build local capacity so communities can continue advocacy efforts independently.
